It's a Honey Locust tree. There are alot of them around here. Those thorns can go right through the bottom of a soft shoe. They're not too good for bike tires either. That green goop for tires is a must where I ride my bike.
yeh - one of my aunts recognized it too - then pointed out that it's the thorns Christ's crown was made from - made me shiver
