Fox River Bald Eagles
I was driving around today contemplating life, and why I continue to drive around looking for things to photograph and to my shock, I saw eagles along the Fox River. Never would have expected it. I saw and photographed at least three and another bird I have not identified yet.

Awesome !! I wish there were some around here. I need to take a drive up to DeSoto Bend NWR one of these days.
I usually see them in eastern Iowa over Christmas, but not this last one.
thanks ethan - i was stunned to see these on this river - and even a great blue heron! This river has a polluted past, but if the Eagles and great blue are back, then it must be getting better. I thought I had to go to Starved Rock (about 2 hours away) or the Mississippi River to see bald eagles.
